What the world is not is a concept of a book about various issues based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by UN.
This was a school project where we got a text we could illustrate or freely interpret. My project is based on “What a poem’s not” by John Hegley. This was a really fun project because in his poem he lists things on every letter in the alphabeth, and I decided to use that in my project. The polar bear is meant to represent biodiversity.
Throughout the last 30 years, has 75% of insects disappeared. Insects covers 3/4 of all animals, so this is worrysome.
The client wants to put this into focus through a positive association. They want to create an exhibition to display the information in an informative and attractive way. The client want 3 illustrations that displays the insect in a informative way. The illustrations must show the insect’s anatomy, life cycle and design which reaches the target audience of children within the age of 6-9 years.
You will make an illustration to a poster for a dancing show for Bårdar. The poster must show at least three dancers in a realistic room. The people must be realistic in terms of each others and the room/scenery.
Together with the advertisment-students, we illustrated a drawing to their text. By co-operating we learnt how to work professionally with a client. We were challenged to get out of our comfort zone and dare ask for feedback and learn to handle critiques.
This drawing is based on a text by @schultzen.mehren.
Translation: [ ] Let’s create a life – together A life with meaning beyond ourselves Let me be the one I Always was meant to be
One forever before and after I do not understand how the sound Of someone I love Can be so scary That a day Without plans feels like A leap without an end People tell me that time Must be enjoyed before it is too late I can only look forward till it is over I keep wondering if they Could shut up Give me what I need But what I need Is impossible to say because I know Not who I am anymore, perhaps I have never known
I have become everything for someone While I am nothing for myself I have no control

NRK Super wants a vignett for the theme “Power battle”. You choose what type of fight it is and whom are involved. Your task is to create “Keyframes” the animators can work with. With the help of visual tools will you affect the strength ratio in the battle.
You choose the illustration techniques. The battle may be between humans, animals, insects, fantasy characters, abstract figures and more. The subject shall show how you use principles in visual communication to strenghten the message. Intentional use of visual tools like surfaces, lines, weight balance, focal point, colours, material and typography is most important here. You must justify your choices of the visual tools.
Format landscape: 25,4 x 14,29 cm. Resolution: 300dpi.
